Here are two rupees today. :) Please forgive me if they are presented upside down, but I think they are beautiful with the wheat stalks and mystic symbols. They both are about the size of a quarter and weigh just a little more.

How do you date something like that?

On the first coin I see a date of VS 1874, with a 2 lower in the field. The second is dated VS 1884. I like the Sikh coins, they have a lot going on, the first has a symbol on the obverse (upside-down) I've seen described as a raincloud.

Nice Sikh rupees from Amritsar mint. Out of four, three images are upside down.

The second one has date VS 1884 on obverse but it's a frozen date and appeared on amritsar mint rupees for more the 15 years. On reverse, one can see two digits 86 which makes it a coin dated VS 18(86) (AD 1829)
