Found this coin roll hunting. Looks like something leaked on top of Lincoln’s head.

is it a die crack? total guess if that is even possible like that. If so, yikes!

Not a die crack. Looks like the coating was hot and dropped or something. Do not know how the coating goes on. But possibly a die crack before the coating went on.

It looks like a die crack to me, based on the photos.

The copper plating goes on the unstuck zinc planchet,
so there is no 'die crack before the coating', because the
coin wasn't struck before the plating goes on.

That's a Die Crack.. The crack on the Die that struck the blank planchet created that small raised area because the metal flowed into the crack.. Like a mold.

Double Die I know just enough to be dangerous

Mary, there's no coating on the coin. It is a die crack and you have to think in reverse as to how the coin is pressed and how this happened.

Yeah that's a nice die crack. It's very large too. That is probably a $10 coin! Nice find!

If I could get $10.00 for every nice die crack I have found I would be a millionaire a long time ago.
