Well Gentlemen I have been looking for the 'best' cent in searching through about seventy pounds of change, cans etc. from the family. Owning one of the MS70RD's I see what that grade looks like, and tried to see how close I could get. The best coins were really scrutinized with the loupe, and out of one can I found this one.

This can sat in the back room where my late father in law watched TV etc, and to make a long story short, the very newest date I found in this can was a very few 1991's. that can wasnt moved until just now.

So I dont know how good the pictures are, but take a look and see how you would grade this.

(I had trouble with the color it is dead brand new bright )

the mark to the lower right of the memorial is very obviously a die crack when you view it in hand, also part of that crack is upper left also

It didnt come up with this photo but the Cand E on the reverse are doubled at the bottom. What is this?

nice coin, but grading from the pics would be tuff. the beard detail looks like it could be better. the die crack is awesome, i have alot of them like that from 1980 to present. nice though.

Very tough to tell by the pics, but there does seem to be some weakness in the beard (from the pics), which would eliminate it from a 67? Would you be able to get better pics with better lighting? I'd give it a strong MS-66 from what I can tell by the pics, but never know. There could be a little wear, which would drop it to a AU. JMO

yea those arent bad for a phone i hate. mine was thrown outta my jeep at 80 miles an hour. never worked. nice coin. id say a 65-67 depending what grading company you send it too. not bad for puliing it outta a can. as to if its doubled? i cant tell by the pics. sorry. but nice find.

Im thinking this might be something important....

Clear Doubleing That die may have cracked from that double hub stamping, then been pulled from the press after that crack was seen? Very apparant doubleing.... I think Im sending this to ANACS let them check this variety.....who knows they may grade it a ms69rd. it is really good ive looked at a lot of lincolns lately

i see the doubling better now. anacs graded its a 70, i think probably like 65-66 in a top 2 holder. still really nice. i got a brothel token from my father-in-law. and a wife. i like the token the best...

Man, great pics for a phone. :thumb: But, maybe I'm staring to hard but I think I see some wear in Lincoln's hair? Not sure. JMO. Could just be the pics. BTW, I think that is machine doubling you are seeing, pretty common, and not worth being attributed IMO. But I could be wrong. Have been before. But not a half bad cent from being pulled out of a can. :thumb:

Just from the image I'll take a wild guess.
It looks to already be in plastic and probably Satin Finish from a mint set.
    Wild guess 67 or 68.:)

I'll stay with 67 or 68 on the 2006. It has the look of a Satin finish coin.
The 1990 looks to be 65 and maybe a 66?
In hand I may say something different, but these are images.
I'm wondering how you feel about the coins having them in hand.:)
