About two years ago, I bought a small lot of Axumite coins in an auction. Just got around to taking some pictures of one of the coins in the lot. Kind of neglected the last coin due to some of the Byzantine coins I picked up a while go. Bumped into it again this morning when I was cleaning my den. This particular coin is quite scarce and not frequently seen in comparison to Armah's other coin. Here is the full attribution, including the Ge'ez legends, transcriptions, and translations. Original and nice coins. Mine is common though in gold. Endybis King / Of the Aksumites man of Dakhu Aksum (actual Tigray) Endybis 270-300 2.66g 15.1mm 12h Just before Christianity. "Anchor" or "hub" coin, I don't know the correct word (don't hesitate to correct me !). Southernmost gold coin. Aksum was a trade hub for trading with Asia by waterway.
