Bastien splits the MARS VICTOR types at Lugdunum across five separate emissions.
He dates Emission 3 to November – December A.D. 276. Coins can be allocated to this emission based on their "early" style. All coins occur from Officinas 2 and 3 identified by II and III in exe.

He dates Emission 4 to Mid to End 277 A.D. Coins can be allocated to this emission based on their "mid" style. The way to distinguish the style from the later coins is that the bust is relatively broad and there is very little cuirass visible at the base of the obverse though they are not as broad as the Emisison 3 coins. The coins have a few obverse legends and cuirassed bust types. All coins occur from Officinas 2 and 3 identified by II and III in exe.

This emission was produced at the same time as Probus visited Lugdunum on his way west to do battle with the Gauls.

The same type occurs during the 5th Emission - dated to End A.D. 277 to Early A.D. 278. This emission was produced to celebrate the triumphal return of Probus through Lugdunum. The emission introduces a ranges of more elaborate busts. All coins occur from Officinas 2 and 3 identified by II and III in exe.

Emission 6 - dated 278 - 279 A.D. has narrower, longer necked busts with more visible cuirass also occur from Officinas 2 and 3 identified by II and III in exe.

My newest coin is very unusualin this series in that it is the only known MARS VICTOR type to come from Officina 4.

    Obv:– IMP C PROBVS • P • F • AVG, Radiate, cuirassed bust right
Rev:– MARS VICTOR, Mars walking right, holding spear and trophy
    Minted in Lugdunum (//IIII) Emission 6, Officina 4. A.D. 278 - A.D. 279
Reference:– Cohen 334. Bastien –. Bastien Suppl. II 294B (this example). RIC 84 Bust Type F var (officina)

    Currently unique.

There is another oddity in this series. It is a slightly different reverse type, with the addition of a Captive. This is added to Emission 7 based on a die match to an aureus also allocated tothis emission.

Obv:– IMP C PROBVS P F AVG, Radiate, cuirassed bust right
Rev:– MARS VICTOR, Mars walking right, holding spear and trophy; at foot, captive.
Minted in Lugdunum (unmarked) Emission 7 Officina -. Summer A.D. 281
    Reference(s) – RIC 35 Bust Type F (Scarce)

From aureus reverse dies. Same reverse die as aureus - Bastien 301

Wow, that's useful information on the Lugdunum mint and quite a fascinating die match. Also, it's obvious that you did some serious research on this series – thanks for sharing!

I don't have a Probus from Lugdunum and my only one with a Mars reverse is too shabby to show, but as a humble salute to your new coin, here is a (very common) Probus that I like a lot – a thoughtful and slightly melancholic looking portrait from Tripolis:

Probus, Roman Empire, AE antoninian (traces of silvering), 276–282 AD, Tripolis mint. Obv: IMP C M AVR PROBVS AVG, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev: CLEMENTIA TEMP. Emperor standing right, holding eagle-tipped sceptre, receiving globe (or pileus?) from Jupiter, holding sceptre. Crescent in lower centre; mintmark KA. 23 mm, 4.13 g. Ref: RIC V-2, 928 (crescent).
