Maybe I am a little slow, but I cannot find a sensible explanation of the bullion content in a "silver" Ike. Does anyone know what it is? And if you sell a silver Ike, what kind of premium does the silver add? Thanks- Mike
Hi Mike! click on the 90% and 40% silver coins thread at the bottom of this page; or in the forum. It has all the answers your'e looking for.
Thanks! I couldn't find the percentage listed in any of my references, even though I am pretty sure it is there somewhere. All of the silver content guides that I saw only went up to the 40% Kennedys. Appreciate the help- Mike
GDJMSP- oddly enough, that is where I first looked! The .800 bonded to inner core .209 confused me, and I never read the weight line right beneath it. I'm not exactly stupid, but definitely kinda slow. Thanks for getting me to reread it- Mike
Something I just found out this year 2 Kennedy 40% silver Halves = 0.2958 Troy oz of silver 1 Ike 40% silver = 0.3162 Troy oz of silver ---------------------------------------------- 2 / 90 % halves = 0.7234 Troy oz of silver 1 / 90 % Silver Dollars = 0.7735 Troy oz of silver Here is link for Silver Coin Melt Value Calculator http://www.coinflation.com/coins/silver_coin_calculator.html
