Hello everyone! Yesterday when I received the change after doing some shopping I found a quarter of 1977, which I took a picture with the camera of my cell phone to present to you to see what they think and if they notice something in the currency and if they recommend me to clean it. I appreciate all the comments.
who's "they"? Did someone already "recognize" something and recommend that you clean it? I don't see anything other then it's really dirty and damaged.
Duplicate Post ==> https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1977-quarter-dollar.324984/ The other one is from 10:08PM yesterday. You're not going to get much differing opinions 10 hours later.
You can soak it soap and hot water only. Just for this condition only. I do that on my quarters. Not on any silver.
Normally you don't clean coins, but in this case it will never be worth more than a quarter. Go ahead, soap and water, paper towel. And then spend it.
Thi This condition is considered cull. I have 4000 circulated quarters all have been soaked with Dawn dish soap for two min and hot water rinse. Most dirt will come off without having to rub
LOL.. Edited: Looking at that picture the 2nd time it surely shows Zorro's left a marked on the coin.
When cleaning it look what the letter Y looks like between the letters B and E of the word Liberty, also note that they coin part of another coin on the image of jefferson can be seen where the draw of both coins. Also on the back is a something in the middle of the right wing that goes down to the arrows and seems to get to the letters DO of the word dollar
Looks (maybe) like something corrosive came into contact with the coin, and peeled back a layer of metal.
Thanks for your comment! and how it is explained that from where the brand covers the quality is much better than the part above where it was apparently affected by some chemical. and the tie that is seen in the coin in the picture where I hold it with my fingers?
I changed the forum because in the other they told me that my post was not an error and I brought it to the American coins Thanks for your comment!
On that coin, it don't matter much, but when dealing with collectible specimens, you always grasp the edges........
