Judging from the other merchandise in the seller's store, price is the ONLY object when deciding what to buy.

Now excuse me as I regrade all of my coins based upon that one sample.

Looks like it sat on the basement floor after a bad leak for a week.

Can anyone look it up to see if it's even in a genuine holder? How could this have happened?

An error slab. The real MS-65 was probably returned to the owner in a body bag instead of this one.

The reverse is nice but that thumb print and terminally toned obverse should keep the hammer price well below MS65 territory unless someone is bored.

The reverse is nice. IDK what happened to the obv.
Based on the obv I don't make it MS.

The certification number checks out for an MS-65 54-S Washington quarter but no photo on file.

[edit] Whoops! Late by a minute, LOL!

Oh, no, not all. I was a day late, a dollar short, and your post had the great screenshot that summed it all up nicely!

It could be that the coin turned in the slab (or some contaminant was left on the surface before it was slabbed). And it might just be the ugliest MS 65, but still technically an MS 65.

But how can it net grade at 65 even if the rev is 65?

The only thing for certain. . . It is ugly!

Where's the poll? I vote for the biggest mistake in the history of PCGS.

Nah that title would go to the infamous 1909 VDB cent that was erroneously graded (or labeled incorrectly-according to some) as a proof (that made for a very compelling thread). :p

I vote for a Chinese 'scoop'...........A blind man could have graded that coin better.......

What prevented it from grading MS-66 or at least a CAC sticker:)
