Why does 2018 silver eagle coin is less expensive than the previous years?

My assumption would be that spot silver is lower than previous years. I believe silver is as low as it has been in about ten years. Pretty attractive time to buy.

New issues are usually the cheapest since you can always buy them. Any previous years sellers usually mark up since they cannot be bought new any more, so there is a finite supply to them. Next year the 2018 will probably be slightly more expensive than the 2019's, and so one.

I agree, the price of silver has been down. In fact I purchased a roll of 2018 silver eagles about a week ago. First time I have bought a roll since maybe 2006? I remember buying rolls when the first came out of maybe $120 a roll. Wish I had bought many more rolls than I did at those prices, but who knew!

I'm not sure if this helps. I lists the year, mintage, current, and original price of the ASE bullion coins. The original price will vary based on the price of silver during the year.
