I have a couple coins I need some help with. The first is an old coin from my father's childhood collection, a 1777 over 8 Four Reale coin. The damage looks very old. The Second is an NGC Graded Mint Error Civil War Token. It is easier for you to read the label than for me to type it out. Thanks for any info!
Wouldn't the first coin be a 1778 over 7? And the second coin is exactly what it is.. A Partial Curved Clip.. What do you want to know?
Also known as a Incomplete Punch I want to share the following information - http://www.error-ref.com/incomplete-punch/
On the partial clip.. That type of Mint Error is rare and do carry a big premium. I have never seen one on a Civil War Token so that would probably make it unique.. Well over $100.00 IMHO
I am just going to auction them on eBay and see how they do, cannot find anything on values for either, so I will let the market decide.
