I still haven't the faintest idea of what most of them mean or stand for, but for some strange reason it makes sense... albeit in an odd sort of way.
Standing up for those who are getting ripped by the know-it-alls truly will help newbies on this sight but that then puts you in the direct line of fire of those that you are calling out, if you call them out by name. Then it becomes point counter-point which gets old and I'm not saying you do that, OK? I don't take sides, I read, absorb and learn.
There is a big difference between the senseless, pointless, useless, and annoying "bickering" that some members engage in, and meaningful discussion and debate. I've been known to participate in the bickering, but when someone can present facts, or theories that are well argued and substantial, that becomes valuable discussion and debate. "Talking heads" on TV are almost always bickering.... I like to think that many of the discussions here are substantial discourse instead.
In agreement with that statement but then there are those who must continue to comment because they know they are right, when many know they are not, that is the real turn off.
I just want to clarify something.. I have been on CoinTalk for a few years and do my best to give my answers. If I know I'm correct I will give an answer. If I'm not 100% sure I will add IMHO. If I have ever been incorrect and that has happened, I will admit to it and thank the person that corrected me. I have had a couple of negative responses lately that I have just responded to in a calmer manner to avoid any issues. I have never meant to anger, annoy or start bickering with any member. I am so grateful for those who truly appreciate, thank me and like my comments. Peace
As long as I've been here, you have given an open, honest opinion on many post. You are one individual I accept as a "no bull" person. So shouldn't you, under your avatar, correct the quote "no common cents", LOL, just saying.

Then put the arrow over each one to see what it is. I have no clue either about many of these: = Vamp. OK so ...? = Android. OK so...? These are some of my favorites: = Yack, yack, vomit.
Much of the bickering here is created by new members that don't understand the site or the hobby. That's just normal for coin forums. Many come here believing they have found something of great value and don't respond well to the bad news. I believe that most folks that join CT, walk away happy or stay a while and enjoy the fun.
At least on Firefox, if you hover over the emoji in the message, you see a popup with its name. (Not in the editor where you type your reply, though; there, you have to pull down the list.)
Okay, I lied... the vomit one I knew as well. That said, "so".... this: I haven't signed in here using a computer in years now, so I don't have the luxury of placing an arrow over anything. Unfortunately, at least from my position of utter incompetence, I've yet to see a way of achieving the same using mobile (iOS chrome or safari). And what the hell good is a "vamp" or "android" smiley? Perhaps I should just stick to my imagination. At least they made more sense then.
I agree, feel the same about several others well. But to the best of my knowledge, when it comes to what smileys are available here Peter doesn't have any choice in the matter. In other words he doesn't pick which ones are included and which ones aren't. He has to take what he is given by the software programmers as part of the package.
Trust me, Doug: if I could blame Peter for taking away the most useful smiley thing we once had (the thumbs up) I certainly would.
