I am just getting round to processing my latest purchases. Amongst them are a couple FTR Galley coins. They are sufficiently different that I will add them in separate threads. This new coin fills a gap for me in that I didn't have a FTR Galley from Arles for Constantius II. The reverse legend has some issues from corrosion and potentially back to te strike but one real odditiy is in that it appears to read REEPARATIO instead of REPARATIO. Constantius II - AE2 Obv:– D N CONSTA-NTIVS P F AVG, Pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right Rev:– FEL TEMP - REEPARATIO (sic), Emperor standing left on galley, holding phoenix on globe and labarum; Victory behind, steering galley Minted in Arles (//PAR[L]).
