what does everyone think a fair price on silver dimes is now that silver is over $16? on just general circulated silver dimes?
www.coinflation.com tells you the melt value of silver coins, single or multiple. Hope this helps. I'd say fair price would be spot-50 cents over spot. Phoenix
Lots of variations! First - type of dime - common circulated roosevelts will sell for less than common circulated mercurys. Then, what condition of circulated? If you're bottom feeding that's different than insisting on at least VG. Assume for bullion value - thus AG/G with maybe some scratches and rim nicks. Roosevelts: $1 Mercury's : $1.20 There really aren't any rare roosy's in AG/G/VG/F/VF condition. So now's the time to load up!! Almost all dates are fair game. For mercs, the above price is for the very common ones - and that's pretty much everything from 1940. The early mercury's, even in G/VG command a "numismatic" premium. But if the price of silver goes much higher, that won't be true..... Of course the $1 and $1.20 are estimates. Basically, if I can get a silver Roosevelt in hand for $1 or a merc for $1.20, I'm pretty happy.
