Try a coin shop in your vicinity.. No person here will tell you it's a Mint Error. As stated.. We have been attributing for many years. I have over 3 decades dealing with true Mint Errors.

What are you using to try and remove it? Some adhesives are water soluble, others dissolve in acetone. Some epoxies won't dissolve in either one but can be removed by extreme temperature changes.

Oh, or better yet maybe, just maybe, it's glue. I realize this is a crazy never-thought-of-before idea though, and if we think about it, of course it would make more sense for someone to have made a die and snuck it into the mint in order to produce a coin for you to find in the wild. Glue though, why on earth would glue ever be around a coin?

That Occam's razor thing, you know...

OR...maybe someone purchased a defaced die from the Mint and re-engraved it to make these...LOL.

Yes, it is glue. They show up here quite often.

"Goof Off Super Glue Remover is the first national brand capable of removing all three types of Super Glue." Around $4.47 at Home Depot.
