the coin I get weighs 24.4 gr and have a right diameter of 38.1 mm. Otherwise, it's identical to a regular TD coin.
Is it real or fake ?
    Thank you

Looks phony to me. Looks casino the obverse with pitting, an uneven rim and poor denticles.

Weight indicates fake. I was offered one by a local felon. A known China fake was made with 50% silver British melt

I'm curious how much you paid for it and where you got it ?

@Stef, take it from another newbie, trade dollars are one of the most counterfeited coins out there. Unless you've been studying them for longer than you and I combined (and then some):

    1) only buy them slabbed by a TPG (third-party grader such as PCGS, NGC, etc.),
    2) or from a dealer that you can absolutely trust, and
    3) STILL you should do the homework/legwork first to determine for yourself if it is legit. ("Give a man a fish..." or in this case, a woman ;-)

I saw it as fake at first glance. On a real trade dollar, the water goes all the way to Lady LIberty's leg. There would be no gap there.

Haven't we seen this one before?

Didn't even have to see it, 24.4 grams when a trade dollar spec is 27.2 grams. 3 grams light? No way it is real.

    Yep, a poorly made fake.

Ignoring the obvious weight issue, one need look no farther than the terribly formed rims.
