Hello all, new member here. l have been collecting coins for a few years now, and have had this for several years, but I never thought to find out what it was because it was buried under the plastic covers l keep my coins in. I have done some searching around the internet and it looks like this is a Janus Coin from Rome, but l have not been able to find one exactly like it in the sense that the faces seem different and l haven't been able to find one with gold coloring. The areas with wear are grey and there is gold (plating l think) on about 80% of the coin. lt is a little bit smaller than a US quarter. l am unsure as to what metal it is made of (perhaps tin?). l can answer any questions if needed, but l would like to know if anyone with knowledge about these can determine if it is authentic or not. Thanks in advance.
The profile looks kind of modern. Doesn't fit with the true ancient profiles I have seen. But this is just my honest opinion.
