I have bought from a few sellers on VCoins from time to time so I figured I would try their auction. I bid on a few and caught the stomach bug before the closing so never checked back.

Turns out I won 2 of the auctions.
    112320LG.jpg
Macedonia, Thessalonica. Pseudo-autonomous issue. 3rd century A.D. Æ (18 mm, 6.19 g, 2 h). Turreted, veiled and draped bust Tyche right / Legend in four lines within wreath. SNG ANS 816. Green patina. Good very fine.
    Ex Triskeles 21 (29 September 2017), 257.

I really liked the style of this one and for $30 I couldnt go wrong.

111809LG.jpg Victorinus. Romano-Gallic Emperor, A.D. 269-271. Æ antoninianus (19 mm, 2.99 g, 8 h). IMP C VICTORINVS P F AVG, Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Victorinus right / PAX AVG, Pax standing facing, head left, holding olive branch and scepter; to left, V; to right, star. RIC 118; Elmer 682. Brown patina. Extremely fine.

This one had tough edges losing some legend but was beautifully struck.

Feel free to post any comments or pieces you won at the auction.

Nice captures! Rugged flans are the norm for Gallic Empire coins. The detail is great!

Congrats on the wins, Brittania40 - good looking coins. I hope you're feeling better!

I snagged three from the auction today:
    triskeles o2.jpg
Parthian Kingdom. Orodes II. 57-38 B.C. AR diobol (13 mm, 1.18 g, 12 h). Mithradatkart. Diademed bust of Orodes II left, wart on forehead; before, palm branch / Archer seated right on throne, holding bow; below bow, monogram. Cf. Sellwood 48.14 (monogram - Ekbatana); Shore -. Extremely rare; unpublished for Mithradatkart. One of possibly only five known examples from this mint.

    triskeles ko.jpg
My tenth coin, and third tet, of this particular ruler - but my only one from these dies:
Elymaean Kingdom. Kamnaskires-Orodes. Early-mid 2nd century A.D. Æ tetradrachm (28 mm, 15.20 g). Aramaic legend (King Kamnaskires-Orodes, son of King Orodes), facing diademed bust of Kamnaskires-Orodes with bushy hair and top tuft; to right star and crescent above inverted anchor / Elongated pellets in regular pattern. Van't Haaff Type 12.1.1-3E; Alram 481.

    triskeles k4.jpg
Elymaean Kingdom. Kamnaskires IV. Ca. 63/2-54/3 B.C. AR tetradrachm (31 mm, 14.26 g, 12 h). Susa, S.E. 255 (58/7 B.C.). Diademed and draped older bust of Kamnaskires IV left; behind, horse's head left; c/m (possibly celebrating the recapture of Susa from the Parthians) atop horse's head: Nike standing left, holding wreath and palm within square incuse / Belos seated left, holding Nike and scepter; in inner left field, monogram; in exergue, date (ENΣ). Van't Haaff 8.3.

This is a type I've been after for about five years, a dated Kamnaskires IV (of Elymais) tet with a depiction of the king as middle aged. I already own a tet of his from his slightly younger days, with a more youthful portrait. It will be nice to finally have a companion piece from a few years later in this fellow's reign.

those are very nice looking. I like that that CM was put on the edge and not affecting the portrait which is what happens a lot of time.

I was sorry to lose out on a nice Vespasian Judaea Capta denarius. It's been on the top of my wish list for a while, and I've missed out on a few now. But overall I was very happy. I got my two top targets, both of which I first heard about on Coin Talk. First is Lot 1, an Erevascan copy of a Republican denarius. I'm fascinated by barbarian imitations, and I particularly like Republican coins, so this was a double-win.

My other top win is an Indian imitation of a 'Tribute Penny'. I've coveted these ever since I first read about them here:
    111645.jpg
A bit rough looking, but a really interesting coin.

    Nice additions, Nerva.
