Why? Why did you post those 2 Copper Plated Cents?
It has nothing to do with 1943 Steel Cents

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

To return this thread to it's original premise....

    You can't.

The corrosion on that coin is extensive, deep, and overwhelming.

At this point, the best thing to do with that cent is to spend it.

I can't go and spend it. Now I can say. Yes I have a 1943 steel sent. It actually filled in one little hole I have. I can't do it. I just turn it to the reverse side I'm still happy though I actually have one now!

The bottom one is a 1982 D small date zinc. Not the copper one. But no one will ever find another one. Only one was made. Just one..

If you wanna get some rust off, try some steel wool. That cent is unfortunately toast anyways.

a friend of mine removed 30 years of rust from inside a motorcycle tank by filling it with white vinegar and letting it sit 3 or 4 days ,worked brilliantly might be worth a shot to clean it up a little .

If you want a nice example of this coin, they ain't expensive at all from online dealers.........kripes, I was picking stuff like this (out of the change) fifty years ago. Ugo and nothing has changed, except, if you want a nice example, you can buy it online.........

It is nice to see the folder full. But as you start finding nicer examples this coin has Too much going wrong with it to be in the folder. There is no doubt that this kind of corrosion could transfer to other coins.
    I say spend it also.
