That’s definitely not a Morgan. Private silver round if it’s even silver

 

So what's that mean?

 

Before you jump and down too much, see if you can pick it up with a magnet. Just to be sure its not a fake.

 

Looks like a Chinese fake of a generic silver round.

 

It does stick to magnet

 

Keep that magnet in your tool box the next time you go to buy silver.

Silver doesn't stick to a magnet.

I didn't assume anything, just pointing out that everyone should have a few basic tools when buying silver.

It's worth the price of one ounce of silver. That's about $14.50 today.

 

I see a SM under the eagle, so I would venture to guess that's a piece produced by the sunshine mint.

I've got quite a few of these. I purchased them from AmPex as Silver Bullion. They were minted by the Highland Mint in Florida. Mine have initials on the Obverse "HM". Here's a listing on ebay for a couple of them for sale for about $35. I also have some with the Buffalo nickel Indian. Same "HM" initials.
