I'm sure she's okay. She was posting yesterday evening. If we don't see something from her tonight, then there might be cause for concern.

Thanks Susan. I've known Kyra ever since I started doing Forums and consider her a friend.

Hey Catman, We all are living in an area that should be evacuated! We are in the land of TAXES...INDIANA!!! Well, weather wise it is one big mess here! Went right from two feet of snow at Xmas to heavy rain and the ground just can't take anymore so we are forcing the rivers to run "backwards" and sending all that water back to Kyra as she keeps sending it down to us!!! Actually, at this time it is great to be a few miles from any body of water in this state. Weather is finally turning cold again so I would assume MORE snow will be in the mix! What I would give for a few weeks of DRY!!! Can't you just envision a front page picture of Kyra sandbagging her local coin shop??? Now that would be dedication to the hobby!

Very good advice there Catman, as I have been telling all my relation in Indiana that very same thing for years. I'll bet there are those in Indiana that hasn't seen dry land since they were in Kansas. :D

    you guys are great!

Hey! I'm OK! The flooding isn't gonna get to where I am, but a lot of streets are closed and some people were told to evacuate. Sorry, didn't mean to scare anyone... :) Seriously though, it's good to know that my friends were thinking about me- makes me happy! :D

Now we just have to worry about all of this standing water freezing and making it even more difficult to get around! It's 17 degrees right now, so that can't help any.

I'm not worried about my favorite coin shop- it's on fairly high ground- at least by Indiana standards!

Thanks for checking up on me!

    Rachel :p

It's been pretty bad in some places here in Indiana, but it ain't nothing compared to what we (Kokomo, north central IN) got July 4th 2003.

Thanks everyone. It seems that our Indiana folks are a bit waterlogged. How about I invite all you good people to Las Vegas for a nice hot Prime Rib Dinner and some dry weather...

Old Dan you are absolutely correct. It was very DRY in Kansas right up to the day we left for Indy. After that all .... broke loose and thousands were without power due to freezing rain and ice. The darn stuff followed us home but we did have dry roads as we were between the heavy rains headed for Indiana and the ice following us. One lucky drive home! Did I tell you the coin shop in Dodge City was closed the last two days we were there!!! Couldn't believe my luck as the shop was right where you said it was!!! Will catch them on our return trip in 2006!

Yeah, it was worse here then too! That was a bad one... Everyone was worried that it was gonna be as bad as that one, but I think we lucked out, relatively speaking. Unfortunately some of the same places flooded this time too, and some of the people that just got everything back in one piece from the flood of '03 are gonna have to rebuild again.

Glad you're OK too, ndgoflo and highlander!!
