Your pictures are low resolution and it's kind of hard to see, but i'm pretty sure it's MD (machine doubling). Better pictures would help, but I doubt it is a doubled die.
Because it's not an error coin. So many people come here saying they "see doubling". 99.9% of the time the coins turn out to just be machine doubled (AKA Poor Man's Doubled Die). This type of doubling is the type on your coin and it is worthless. (not my images)
The type of doubling, MD, adds no value and is worthless doubling. The coin is worth face value $0.01
I had a friend on a coin forums submit an Double Die coin, and was told . worthless just machine Doubling. Well it turned out it was not machine doubling as most of you say.It was a true DD coin, worth 600.00 . So im a bit skeptical about what im told here. Just sayin
Well if it was a in hand and looked at from here would if been told dd. Pictures are not always as accurate that's why you take it to get a second look at it
@Drakester65 It sounds like your friend found a significant doubled die. I would guess that a $600 coin isn't one of those micro doubled dies that are darn-near impossible to ID from blurry pictures. It must be a well known variety. Do you have any links or details? Was it this site or another site? It would be a really great learning opportunity to study the pics and determine why the original answers were incorrect. It's been my experience that an occasional post my offer incorrect information, but having a consensus of incorrect answers is very unusual. That's why it would be great to see how/why your friend was given the wrong information and learn from it.
Hey @Drakester65 how about some details on your friends coin. Wouldn't want people to think you were just trying to stir things up by being a drive by troll
