The colors are normal for Indian Cents. But the shiny area on the feathers did give me pause. I don't have it in hand yet. Could be a lighting effect. Could be cleaning. I'll be able to tell when it arrives Monday.
Kind of (ie: definitely was) an impulse buy but I have been wanting one and I said if I could get it for 20$ I would grab one. And I did! 20$
Another fun pickup! From my birth year and the price was right! My first ever proof coin and it is purty!
I picked this up because it looked to be a good buy based on VF20 prices in a 2010 Redbook. But I'm guessing this is about a VG10 so it might be about right at $40.96. But it qualifies for the "Under $50" thread.
I have a few that I have purchased recently. I got this one on eBay. It was a Buy It Now listed at $52.00 but I got a discount because of a 10% eBay Bucks promo, so final cost was $46.80.
Another '38-D I could not resist. This one is in an ICG holder, I've never bought one of these holders before. I bought it for the coin and not the holder. It is an unattributed D/D WRPM-010. It has very nice color and I think it would easily cross at grade to PCGS and possibly even get a grade bump. This was a Buy It Now on eBay for $39.00 but I also got a 10% discount on eBay Bucks so actual price was $35.10.
Here's a sweet looking 1885 Morgan I picked up from my favorite local shop. The obverse is a PL and just shy of DMPL, but the reverse is a lock DMPL with mirrors that reflect out past the 10 inch mark. I paid $45.00 for it raw.
Here is another raw Morgan I picked up at the same time as the '85 above. This one is an 1887 that is a definite DMPL as both the obverse and reverse have spectacular reflections out to 10 inches plus. I brought this one home for $40.00.
I bought a 55 coin partial set of Mercury Dimes. Almost all AU/BU. Only a few FSB coins, but here are a few of my favorites. Works out to less than $9/coin.
