I am looking for a book that talks about all the errors on United States currency. I have the Standard Catalog of United States Paper Money 26th edition, i got the Standard Catalog of Small Sized United States Paper Money 8th edition, and i also have the new Freiedberg book Paper Money of the United States: A Complete Illustrated Guide With Valuations. They all do a good job of listing all the notes, and The small sized US paper money book does get into some of the more well known printing errors.

Is there a currency book, much like error books on coins, that dive into currency and explain in exhaustive detail about all the different erros on United States paper currency?

It gets frustrating for me in the lack of information i can find on the internet. I have collected currency for years with some minimal guidance bookwise that i thought covered it all. But like the red book on coins, if you look at that as your only guide, you will miss alot. I am looking for some currency books, that fill in the gaps not usually covered in these 'standard guides' on us currency.

1 example i can think of off the top of my head, is this '295' plate error on some older US notes. I never heard of it before it was mentioned on this forum. I then order the 3 above books, and not a one of them mentions this error (that i found). Now, if this is the only error not commonly mentioned in the above named books, and it is only a fluke that it isnt, then please fill me in.

I will be first in a long line of people who will tell me i dont know everything! When you find you dont know something, and want to know more you go out and find that knowledge. But, what happens when you dont know there are pieces missing? You look at the half completed puzzle and not realize you dont have all the pieces. This is the realization i came to with al the talk about the '295' plate error.

Sorry for the long winded post! i am just in search of the right book. Eventually, i will give up my collecting coins, and join Dougs book of the month club of numismatic literary material :D
