See the attached for the places where I see wear on this coin - those are what jumped out at me. I have never really tried to grade a walker, but I think this might be in the AU range. I think it is a nice coin!
Those areas don't look like wear on the coin when in hand. The luster is not broken. Aren't walkers typically weak in those areas?
From what I have read the walkers do have a weak strike. I did go and look at some MS examples that seemed to have more details than yours. That does not mean yours is not a weak strike - I have difficulty at times telling the difference between weak strike and what looks like rub. That was just my opinion on what I am seeing. Hold tight and I am sure you will get other opinions.
Looks more like a mint state coin to me, but tough to judge luster from weak strike on these coins for me. I'd probably guess 64, but wouldn't be surprised if it was an AU coin either...Mike
I'd say it is a touch of a weak strike, judging from the rays on the sun and motto. I'm gonna go AU-58/MS-60 slider.
Understand, I'll have to work on the photography. That's probably the best I've been able to do so far. The lighting is difficult for me to get right, and unfortunately that is the most important part.
Wow, I must be a tough critic. I'm thinking XF-45, but it wouldn't surprise me if it went AU-50 or -53. But definitely not MS.
These pics are much better than the first, I would still have to say AU however. There appear to be luster breaks on the hip and breast.
The marks look the same on the coin, but the details sure do not. The only thing I could figure is that the lens was dirty for the first pictures.
Wow I was thinking xf-45 after seeing the first set of photos, then you come back with the second pics and pow! I gotta say Au-58. (again the rub on the hip) See the difference good photos can make!
Its high end AU to MS63. Hard to tell from the pics. The well known fact that the Walkers have a history of weak strikes. I personally grade it on the higher end of the spectrum if i owned it i would mark it MS60. Based on the amount of fine details and luster. But this is just IMO.
That is a tough one! I would go AU as well, with the draped gown in front of the leg being what holds it down. Her hair line looks pristine, however, and all-in-all a very pleasing coin! Mike
