at least he's not posting why his damaged penny is a mint error ... that is a further leap in education.

Alright, another Peace Dollar on eBay.

I'd like to check my thinking on this to see if my thoughts line up with more experienced graders. The coin is selling for $45.00. Carefully evaluate the coin and then when you've reached a conclusion post it. My thoughts are after the pictures.

    My evaluation:
For the obverse I thought: "This coin could go 65 as it appears to be uncirculated and very clean"; however, I flipped to the reverse and thought: "Looks like circulation wear on the upper wing, AU58".

That very well could be just lighting that is causing the wing to look that way. I say uncirculated. 63 64 at best. Might even be a slight cleaning, that details it. It is hard to tell but there are some light scratches on both the obv. and rev. Definitely an in hand buy for me..

    Thank you for the feedback.
I'm a little suspicious that the lighting gets tricky right where the wear would appear. I don't doubt your analysis but I really struggle with cleanings - what do you see in this that raises your cleaned eyebrow?

You nailed it. That is exactly how he acts here. He has no idea of what he is talking about. I gave up trying to correct him. He ignores everyone he should be learning from. It's not worth reading what he post.

It may be nothing, I was definitely feeling critical this morning.
But there appears to be some parallel lines in both fields, but this could be bag wear. And perfectly acceptable in MS grade.

@ldhair I refuse to ignore anyone. I only wish that he can see that You I and many others have posted to his threads and tried to help him along the journey to numismatist. He is obviously interested.
I understand the hording I did it for years, I just wish that he would take advantage of the wealth of information contained in the library that CT and it's Members have built.

I thoroughly understand that he may have ignored me, that's fine.
@Robert91791 holds himself as unreachable anyways.

I may have a name here that gets peoples goat. But it's only because I am Irish, English, don't forget the German, Polish.
I only hope that you don't hold it against me.:p

Oh good heavens, I expected to get a fight out of you and now I feel bad.
I'm going to go clean by best Peace Dollar with a wire brush as penance.

I think the $31.00 price for a 1921(with very low mintage) is way undervalued. It's one of the key peace dollars along /w 1928. I wish I could buy a 1921 for$31.00 uncirculated

And look how few new products they have or come up with.

Looks like a 64 to me. What appears to be wear on the upper wing is probably just what is called "die burn" in Canada - it is just the texture of the planchet that didn't get struck out during the minting process - just a little weakness of strike. The luster will not be broken. This is why I would call it MS64. Very frosty, nice Peace dollar. Price is OK - I have bought slabbed 64's for that or less. Looking closer, there are a few scratches that would make me back away.

Well people are still paying for their products. I don't buy their products only their stocks. Whatever gains I get, I buy them with coins. I only have a flip phone and only pays $20 a month.

I know what you mean. I'm an old-timer and no one pays any attention to me. Which makes me think I should ditch the wife and get a dog!:penguin:

Don't think so. My neighbor got himself a trophy wife, but it wasn't for first place.

On the OP coin, I agree with flat, lifeless, dead. Someone mentioned dipped.
I realize it has straight graded in an older holder, but that coin has been cleaned, as it is very white with no luster. Cracked out and sent in, it is a details coin.
As for the 1925 it seems very frosty and an MS coin. There is a hit above the U in TRVST.
