Less than three months ago McDonald's had a special promotion to honor fifty years of Big Macs. If you bought a Big Mac you got a sandwich and one of five tokens in a pouch that was good for a free Big Mac.Edited : Langage are no slouches. An ebay search for "McDonalds tokens" will get you two auctions for "NGC" slabbed five coin sets of these tokens shipped from China. Once asks $1350 the other is a "bargain" at less than $900. I didn't bother to check the shipping costs. I also didn't check to see if the serial numbers would actually show McDonalds tokens. Since these tokens are good for a $3.90 sandwich the fact that some one would actually pay five fees to TPG is hilarious. I have three sets of these - two still in pouches. I will most likely trade them eventually for a lot less than $900 but someone else will be paying the slab fees. I do not recommend these auctions as a good investment and I think that anyone who sends them into be slabbed by TPG is either ill advised or must be using free coupons.
