My grandma passed Tuesday and I am back home with the family tending to her things. Her change purse of coins will go back home with me. Mostly common pocket change. There are two choice 64 Kennedy halves. A set of war cents that I cannot tell if they are processed until I get them home to my loops. And I am completely unfamiliar with foreign coins so I made a photo of the 1891 penny. I’ll do a little research but am sure it’s probably a common coin as well. Miss grandma but her coins will be safe and lovingly tended to.

Randy, my condolences and sorry for you and your family's loss.

I had rec'd a bunch of coins from my grandpa which just amounted to change, and a couple Morgans. I still have all to this day and store them away in their own container. More memories than anything else.

Sorry for your loss. As a ancients collector I can tell you the ancient coin of Sicily with the man-headed bull is a modern replica of an ancient coin. Still a nice little trinket to have, and as an heirloom belonging to your grandma I bet it is still priceless to you.

Must add, Randy, those coins are priceless. My Grandmother (fathers side [second marriage] {too much info}) left me a set of Indian Head cents. Not a one of them had 'Liberty' showing in the headband, so you know the old girl plucked the coins from circulation. It's in a Whitman folder and ever remains an intergral part of my collection. An addition very much valued. Value your Grandmas' coins as well. They may not be perfect, but it was the way folks collected in her day. I remember the 'old way' because I did it myself.
