So I've been studying and admiring Peace Dollars for a while now and would really love to put together a nice set. I was thinking that a set of strong AU, brilliant white, Peace Dollars would look really sharp in a Dansco album. 2 pages, 12 on each. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea. I did however have a few concerns first before starting a new set and diving right into something. I've found it's best to ask and learn first and then purchase second. In the past, I've seen some toning issues with Dansco albums over time. With things like Jefferson Nickels and Roosevelt Dimes in MS condition, they have started to turn gold some and a few other colors. I was wondering if that would happen to AU Peace Dollars? Has anybody had any experience with Peace in these brown books? I really love the crisp white luster of the dollars and would hate to see them turn goldish. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks!
The don't place them in a Dansco.........I've got a set of American Silver Eagles in such an album and what started out as blast white, has begun to turn (over the course of 12 years).
If you are gonna do it right! Find yourself some Waite Raymond albums. Most of them smell like a musty library.
You can put them in Airtites, or Intercept 2x2 holders with the black frame. Then you can put them into ages made for them. Protection and well exhibited.
