Had to share...my son found this laying on a table at the restaurant he is Chef d'Cuisine in Langley, WA on Whidbey Island yesterday. He said "it was just laying there on the table". Apologies in advance for the condition of the coin but it is a 1918 LWC. Here are the pics, and due to microscope problems, had to quarter the obverse to show... And a representative pic of the reverse... Yes, pretty beat up, but how often do you have this kind of stuff show up from circulation nowadays? Enjoy, or not...Spark
It's cool. Minted just after WWI. How many generations have handled it since then? How many stories? What that Lincoln saw over the past century. A lot of history stored up in that coin.
Cool find! If your son was excited to find it, then the condition anf the fact that it's only worth a few cents doesn't really matter.
It is always fun to find 100 year old coins. Unfortunately, this coin is worth little more than a cent. It is better for luck.
