http://www.hsn.com/collectibles/200...sel*page1_spot3_topline*New_Arrivals_in_coins rev proof pres dollars i personaly would have done gold pres dollars you wouldnt have to do anything
how is that even legal? the reverse proof coins aren't legal are they? excuse my ignorance but i am flabergasted!
Much like how they make Colorized State Quarters....they have some Chinese Worker being paid 5 cents a coin painting the proof-like surfaces in.
its paint? shameful i thought they were putting the coins in amfg process yikes what has the world come too
WAIT! Ya missed it: "Reverse proof Brilliant Uncirculated random mint 2007 George Washington dollar " So, it is a reverse proof UNCIRCULATED !
I rather doubt the surfaces are painted to produce their so called reverse proof, but you can bet the surfaces are definitely altered.
Yeesh... I need to start making a list, to post by the computer, of all the riff-raff out there trying to chisel me out of my hard earned green backs.... Even I picked up on that "Creative Marketing"....
Their response doesn't even address your question about the reverse proof let alone answer it. If you visit the site they linked - you can't even find the reverse proof. I promise you, the surfaces are altered to make the coins look that way.
It wouldnt be legal for a mint like The Franklin Mint to mint coins to look like what HSN is selling. It would go against the new laws the mint has been able to get put in place. They dont have the word 'Copy' or 'Replica' or whatever the term is that is in that law. I dont know exactly what was put in that law, but someone else might but i do believe it has to state clearly that it is a copy ... so i do believe GD is correct that the coins are original, but something was done to them... i just dont know what
There is a link for making a review on that HSN site for the Pres dollars. The Franklin Mint has always done there own thing and have minted many coins for other countries. Back in the late 60's before they got real big they made coins for the Shell Gas game with all the Presidents on them. I have a couple of them, if I can remember where Today they are right across the road from the WAWA dairy in Media Pa about 10 miles from Philly
http://www.hsn.com/collectibles/10t...sel*page1_spot2_topline*New_Arrivals_in_coins i found a new scam using real coins thats over $3000 more than the mint is selling them for!!!!
