I have a roll of 1946 nickels that I was given about 25 years ago. I've had them in the wrapper roll all those years. Today I opened it to look at them and I noticed one stands out from the rest due to its color. What would cause this? Maybe being in circulation longer before being put away to save it? It is just darker (dirtier?) than the others or is it a different metal than the others? Any thoughts?

I noticed that the one in question is not worn as much as the others. This allows it to retain more dirt. Nice coin, but dirty.

Thank you. Like everyone always Hope's for...I was hoping I had something special. Dirt isn't special though. Haha.

If your collection, like mine, represents what a person could find in change, any one of these would fit nice.

Those coins are great they are more than 50 years old it is what we can expect from circulated coins. However those years are hard to come buy and you should keep them all.
