I believe this may be a double eye, with doubling on the letters IN (DDO-002) and the star, all on the obverse. Or, is it something else like DDD? Thanks in advance!
I have a very similar Jefferson nickel that I just posted recently but I have not gotten much help with mine either.
I think this is a relatively extreme double die deterioration. But I don't think I have that coin anymore so I can't check it.
Too bad you didn't keep it. As I look at mine closer it has the same exact doubling on the star and between IN. It also has a small die chip on his chin and a die chip South very close to the rim. I will need to get better photos. I think it is a neat coin even if it is just a worthless learner piece.
