It only took 18 months but I finally got them. Nothing special but I have them. I went to the bank yesterday and since I couldn't get to my regular branch I went to another branch. The teller knows me as she floats between several branches. She only had 3 and she gave them to me without my asking. That's customer service! Here they are, 3 business strike 2018 cents. I was able to get the Denver ones when my wife and I went to Louisiana in May. Now I'm set for this year.
When we went to Louisiana I was able to pickup the d's with no problem. I got Cents, nickels, dimes and quarters. I even got a sealed roll of quarters on Amtrak. I live on the east coast so Philly serves my area. Only a handful of people I know have seen an '18 and my bank hasn't had any. Usually I am able to get rolls by May but not this year. I can still get rolls of '17's but I have those. It's a big difference between the areas Philly and Denver serve.
I have a quarter of a cent tube full of the 2018's and I get cents pretty regularly from a couple different banks. I'm about 45 minutes from Philly and I would agree with you that these are particularly hard to come by. You would think they would be falling out of the trays at the bank!
I didn't see anything unusual but I'm not a variety collector. Trying to find a 2018 in central PA is like trying to eat ice cream in this heat wave. 92 again higher feeling with the humidity.
