Hi Sooooooo.... I’m going to assume the 2018 s reverse shield from the 2018 s Silver Proof set is the lowest minted cent/penny. 200,000 sets were created in total. This is beating out the 2017 s SP shield from the 2017 s 225th anniversary set. They were claiming the 2017 s was the lowest mintage at the time... WRONG! From what I gather, they created 225,000 anniversary sets that had the 2017 s SP finish in the sets.... What about all the 2017 s DCAMS created? Huh? There are no mintages to show. I’m so confused
Regular issue, if the 1856 flying eagle is considered a pattern, would be the 1793 Liberty Cap at around 11,000. [oops, mistyped as 1865, fixed it!]
So the 1793 is the lowest? If so, than why did they claim the 1909 s VDB the lowest mintage... I’m hoping I understand what you are saying ...
Yes I see now.. the large cent is minted at 11,056... then why do they claim the 1909 s VDB lowest... Hmmmmmm. Maybe they don’t consider the large cent the lowest... because it’s a large lol..
If your including proof then all 9 of the Proof Lincolns from 1909 to 1916 combined equal only a fraction of the two Lincolns you’re referring to. The 1916 has a mintage of 1,050. The 1909-S VDB has a mintage of over 480,000.
The 1909-S VDB is readily available if you have the money to buy it. It is not rare. Not a Lincoln guy, but apparently many, many Lincoln collectors keep the demand high.
If you want to go by official mintage figures then it's the 1824 Official mintage is zero ( the actual mintage was include with that of 1824, but the 1823 report says zero.)
Hi I looked up the 1916 Lincoln cent and it’s not 1,050 ... where are you getting this information from?
The 1916 Lincoln, Wheat Ears Reverse has a business strike mintage if 131,833,677 and a proof mintage of 1,050. Please read your R.S. Yeoman Red Book. If you don't have a Red Book please go by one. It is a great guide and it's resourceful.
