Here is my latest acquisition (and I'm supposed to be saving money for FUN tomorrow!) http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o153/d_lairson/series19532dollar.jpg I bought this last night at the coin club auction. I paid $6 for it, which I think is a little much, esp considering the condition, but I had a little auction fever... Anyway it's my very first red seal, so I kind of like it. I also picked up a WWII OPA 1 red point token, just for it's historical value. Cheers, David
While I would struggle to give this note a Very Fine based on the scan (it's hard to see the extent of the folds/creases), it is a problem free note with no staple holes, teller marks, teller stamps, tears, pencil/pen marks, etc... I'd say as long as you enjoy having it, the price is actually decent.
The note is kind of crinkled, with a slight dog ear on the upper right and a fold down the center. There are no holes, tears or marks on it though. I personally would put this around fine/VF. Probably leaning towards fine. Basically it's a very high grade fine, or a very low grade VF. And yes, I enjoy it a lot. Cheers, David
With in the last three months I've acutally picked up two of those from banks. I think they circulate so rarely that when you pick them up, there is a better chance for older bills.
After years without finding any, I've picked up 11 in the past two months (including a red seal star note which I posted here somewhere). I think it's a sign of times getting tight for some people out there.
