Keep in mind that the 2018 s reverse shield is the lowest minted cent. For some odd reason, many are collecting these sets and graded PR70's due to the low mintage. Just some food for thought
The only person making money off this set is Mike Mezack, who is selling an ANACS PR70 set to the HSN suckers for $379.95.
I purchased my Reverse Set from the US Mint the day it went on sale and watched for a few weeks until they sold out. You can find these sets on Ebay for close to the release price. As for the PF70 sets or individual coins, some people are buying at inflated prices because they believe the low mintage makes the demand yet, they are wrong. Its sad buyers will pay what the site shows just to get the coin and then, later realize they paid too much. Prior comments are correct too...these over priced coins or sets are not selling...except to idiots or ignorant coin buyers.
For those of you who are interested. Apparently, the TPGs are running into a lot of poor quality coins. From Coin World: https://www.coinworld.com/news/us-c...lver-sets-generating-fewer-proof-70s.all.html
Gotta give this thread a bump. Prices seem to be getting better on the bay and hard to find a good Block Island or Sac. Any love out there for the "light finish" Kennedy? I did some extra purchases from mint to see if I could find a few.
That Kennedy obverse looks like the "light finish" error/variety and the darn obverse of Block Island has the scuffs on the bust .
