187? Shield Nickel Help

I need help with the date of this coin and its value. Can anyone please help? What you grade the coin. What value would be given to it.

Possibly 1873 because of the top curvature I'm seeing but it's only a guess. 1879 is also possible but I don't think this is it. I won't guess a grade because of the damage. There were two 1873's-open 3 and closed 3.

Well to my eye it is an 1872 , in fact an Fs-111. And it is an R-8
I base my find solely on date placement as the specimen is worn quite a bit.

I have no price points to judge value. The Fs-111 is the name or assigned varity number. R Factors the higer the number the rarer the variety and thus value too.
I am not 100% but by date placement is how I determined the variety.
Others may confirm or reject my attribution. But i am 90 % sure
