I just finished reading Eric Newman's , "The Secret of The Good Samaritan Shilling". Very interesting work. He mentions in it that this coin was listed in the Red Book under patterns. Since Newman wrote this back in the late 1950's I looked in an old 1962 Red Book and sure enough there it was on page 17. But it isn't in the latest addition of the Red Book. I assume this is because it has been determined to be a fake, probably because of Newman's investigative work and writing. Here is my question to the forum. Does anybody know when they removed it from the Red Book? Also does anybody know of any replicas for sale of a Good Samaritan Shilling? Thanks.
