Going through some bank wrapped rolls last night and pulled these two out. Much of the design of this 1996 P quarter are missing. In the hair, behind the ear and at the eyes. Over polished or abraded die? The Roosevelt is a nice die break/chip in the left stalk.
Very nice finds Tommy! I especially like the die chipmin the dime. Is that rainbow on the dime or a reflection of the light and the flip?
Thanks. Yes, it's a reflection but it is nearly B.U. Forgot to add, it's a 2017 P dime. I was also surprised at the condition of the quarter. I went to the bank last Wed. and Liz told me someone local had passed and their relatives turned in nearly $3,000 in change. She had to send most to Brinks but had a full box of quarters left over. They had been saved since around 1970, so I took them and 20 rolls of cents from the same hoard. She is saving me a full box of dimes for next week. No silver but lots of minor errors so far.
The areas in front of the eye, in the hair and below the ear on the quarter are all very highly polished but I cannot capture it here properly. They show up dark here but are nearly mirror like.
A few months ago all it did was rain all day for over a week. I went to the bank and bought 10 rolls of nickels. I got 3 War nickels and 9 from the 40's and 50's. For fun, I put together a nearly complete set of nickels from 1962 to date, including all mintmarks. Only needed 7 and I now have another tray to go through to try and fill them. Easy to do.
