It appears that if we aim carefully, we can get to Iceland without hitting another sovereignty. Thus, I upload for your viewing pleasure, an Icelandic 1922 ten-aurar (KM 1.1).

And then east to Great Britain. I don't know what it is about these farthings I like so much. Is it that they are one-quarter penny? Is it the history? Is it that they're pretty?

In any case, a 1929 one farthing (KM 825).

It looks like that if we go to the western most of the Azores and angle ourselves just right, we can hit The Gambia. A 1966 penny (KM 1).

Thank you ever so much for the reminder that Cabo Verde is sitting there on the western coast of Africa! A quick read the Cape Verde's wikipedia entry was chock full of new things that I learned today!

I wish I had some more to keep us in Africa for a while but I will have to take us to Guyana with this 2007, ten dollars (KM 52).

My wife got this coin today as part of her change from our local store. It is the same diameter as a US quarter and was mistaken for one.

Rather than go back to Guyana, I present to you a Brazilian 1951 cruzeiro that has seen much better days . . . .

It looks like I can make a straight line to Kenya skirting the Tanzania coastline.
