Hi guys, a friend of mine has had this gold coin for a long time, and he needs to know more about this coin, worth etc. This coin weighs 10 gram (Gold) anyone with any clue/idea about this coin.
I wish I could help identify the coin but this is way out of my area of expertise. However, I can tell you this. It looks like an authentic gold coin (despite the many counterfeit coins out there). It just has that unique appearance of real gold. As for it’s origin, I’d guess somewhere in the middle east. I have no idea of the time period but I reckon it’s at least 300 years old.
Is there any writing or design on the edge? Any idea of the purity of the gold(find someone with an X-ray spectrometer, not a acid gold testing kit or anything else that could be considered invasive testing)?
