    Looks like Legio VII not VIII and it looks authentic to me.

    oh I thought I saw three I's there

    Was Antony in command of an 8th Legion before Battle of Actium?

    The last "I" is actually the bottom of the standard. So LEG VII

    Are you certain about this @Jay GT4? If what you say is true, then it would be a Legio VI not VII. I think the bottom of standard is missing below the Roman numeral and that it is VII. Just my thoughts.
