1858 Flying Eagle Cent Die Crack?

    I'm having trouble assessing what created this mark in the coin. Is it a scratch? Mint damage? What's your opinion?

    Actually, it looks more like a planchet flaw to me. What say you others?

    I don't see how that could be anything but rather severe damage.

    If it actually is PMD, kinda hard to picture how it was done or what caused it. I’d rather think it’s a planchet flaw just because otherwise it looks so nice:angelic:.

    HI Guys. I have aan 1858 Flying Eagle Large Letters coming back from ANACS. Grade VG8 with Low Leaves and Closed "E". Any idea on the value?
