Or we both are. It looks like an honest circulated Morgan Dollar to me and it could be one of those pesky "multiple die pairs exist" that does fit into a category (just). edit to add - As stated in the VAM-4 (Near date) listing...
I reckon so...... ive never owned a 96 S, so im not familiar with the date, plus im still re-cooperating from this weekend activities. An in-laws wedding, reception, then onto the bar until close... Ughghgghg im drained
How many known obverse die's are there for the 1896-S Morgan? I would expect each to have their own unique date position.
Good to see you got it. I was thinking about it and got out my Morgans to looks at the ones I have, and lo and behold I have one just like this one. I think maybe we should start a thread called "Show those Morgans with character" and maybe say "no mint states or blast whites please"
FWIW the date position on this new one is an exact match for one of the known Vams. For my $$$, its more better
Yes, yes it does...... is it real ? Is it fake? Is it a contemporary counterfeit? Is it a new vam ?? So many questions...... little to no answers.....
You know what bothers me? 1902-O VAM-45... But this goes to show you what "multiple dies may exist" looks like after an extensive die study.
