    While going through a $25 box of Lincoln cents today, I came across this 1980D. My question is: is this a "woody"? It has all of the wood grain effect but at a tighter grain pattern

    Sorry, not a woody. Just darkened from the environment it was exposed to.

    I kind of see what you are seeing in the last photo but it is not a woody. You'll know when you have one!
