All 5 FEL TEMP coins for the same emperor from the same mint?

I think I’ve asked this question in passing in another thread, but I wanted to start a dedicated thread to this query: Is it possible to get all five FEL TEMP REPARATIO series coins from a single mint for the same Emperor?

The FEL TEMP series of 348 - 350 A.D. consists of five reverse types:

    1. “Barbarian and hut”
    2. Phoenix on globe
    3. Two captives
    4. Emperor on galley
    5. Fallen horseman

These types are primarily associated with Constans and Constantius II.

Just skimming through Wildwinds this afternoon, I noticed that for Constantius II, Antioch struck the phoenix, two captives, and fallen horseman issues, but I do not think the barbarian/hut and galley coins were struck there for him. (I know that the hut coin was struck for Constans at Antioch, but not for his brother.) Similarly, Aquileia struck hut, captives, and horseman coins, but not phoenix and galley coins.

If one wanted to get all five issues from the same city, would one have to mix and match Emperors?

Edit: probably are more as this is one of the most common types and unfortunately I am unable keep book references at work.

Awesome. Thanks. This is just what I was looking for. I think someone (probably @maridvnvm ) commented a while back that Siscia offered a good chance to get all 5, but I didn't know if one could do it for the same Emperor. I wonder if there are any other options, or if Siscia is it.

Siscia is among my least favorite mint styles. :( I wish Antioch or Constantinople went 5 for 5 for one emperor.

You can make a set for either Constantius ii or Constans, but not for all mints. Siscia is probably the easiest, for both. You could probably easily get all with the same officina from Siscia as well. For Constans, the falling horseman type are pretty hard to find for most mints. The easier ones for Constans would be Siscia , Thessalonica. Constantius would probably be the easiest , and with more mints.

Do you mean that it’s easier to find a Falling horseman for Constans from Thessalonica, or that one could get all five coins for Constans from Thessalonica?

You can really go down a rabbit hole with these... so many variations .. here is a view of some reverses just for the "phoenix" type reverse:

The Fallen Horseman type obviously spans many pages...

I started with uncleaned lots so I have plenty of LRBs in good, medium and terrible shape. I am not sure who put me on to this book.. maybe @Kentucky?
But it is an amazing guide to attributing LRBs.. I use it all the time.

I think it's under $20 on Amazon if anyone is interested.

So just to provide clarity/closure for myself, I take it that the result of this crowdsourcing answer is that Siscia is the only mint for which one can get all 5 FEL TEMP coins for the same, single emperor. This can actually be done at Siscia for both Constans and Constantius II.

If another mint provides this possibility, let me know. But my own admittedly scattershot research has not turned up another mint besides Siscia that can pull off the "quinfecta" :D

I'd change the question to "Is it possible to get all five common FEL TEMP REPARATIO series types ..."

because there are two other less common types for Constantius II and they are not from the same mint:
Emperor standing left with one captive, only at Thessalonica
Emperor riding right spearing two kneeling foes, only at Rome

    Cs2FTR1captive9750.jpg
Constantius II. 24 mm. 5.78 grams.
*TSB* Γ infield left, star in field right
    RIC VIII Thessalonica 178
This issue was struck after Vetranio, with Gallus.

    Cs2FTRrider.jpg

Constantius II. 21-20 mm. 4.28 grams.
    R•T
RIC VIII Rome 184 or 153 (they have the same description, right down the the "N" behind the bust and in the left field on the reverse).
