    Hi everyone,

I came across this penny today in change from the grocery store and noticed the mark on Lincoln's head behind his ear. Do you think this is a strike through or just pmd? After putting it under the scope it just seems too clean, for lack of a better word, to be pmd to me.

I'm no expert on this though and wanted to seek a better opinion. As always, thanks for any feedback!

Double Die I know just enough to be dangerous

Raised edges around the perimeter (displacement) mean PMD. It took a hit.

I have a different opinion.. Looks interesting to me. Could be a Strike through :wideyed:

If it were damage the inner zinc would be exposed.. Area looks plated.
A strike through of a foreign object would keep the plating intact even though it created the impression.
