we have a five year old in the house. Started kindergarten on Monday and I gave him a buffalo nickel when he got on the school bus. Told him it was his lucky nickel and to look at it and remember me if he got scared his first day at school..... Well I am an old guy and forgot all about it. Helping him with his bath tonight and find him washing his lucky nickel..... I am just fine if this one gets a “details” grade due to cleaning.
Randy - my hat's off to ya sir ! Hmmm - do you remember the '60s ? Attitudes weren't much different then. Your day is coming ! And then ya have stuff like this - An Assyrian clay tablet dating to around 2800 B.C. bears the inscription: “Our Earth is degenerate in these later days; there are signs that the world is speedily coming to an end; bribery and corruption are common; children no longer obey their parents; every man wants to write a book and the end of the world is evidently approaching.” Or this - Naram Sin, 5000 B.C. "We have fallen upon evil times, the world has waxed old and wicked. Politics are very corrupt. Children are no longer respectful to their elders. Each man wants to make himself conspicuous and write a book." And I can not think of a more appropriate time to post this. The question however is this - how many will heed the lesson ? “Echoes” Many people there are in this world of ours Who search for things they cannot find They pay no heed to the echoes of time Some search for love and some search for truth And then there are those who seek the fountain of youth Some seek out pleasure but find only pain And some seek the sound of a choral refrain Many places they'll look but they'll seldom find The answers to questions or peace of mind These things that they seek they won't find in bars And nor will they find them above in the stars Some folks will tell you these things can be found If you'd open your eyes and just look around But the wise man will say with his eyes all aglisten Just open your ears sit down and listen Most they will scoff and some they will laugh And when the laughter is over they'll order a draft But a few they will listen and soon they will find That the answers lie waiting in the echoes of time
