Coins aren't stamped - they are struck. I can't believe that SilverTowne said that. Doesn't look like a DDO to me either.

Sure looks like one to me. I'm going to check again and edit this.

Look at the thick date. Probably FS-102, DDO-002

Both @desertgem and I have been helping @dlp_dlp21 try to see for himself that this is a DDO, neither of us can pinpoint which one it is. Either 001 or 002, in past posts he has gotten some descent shots of IGWT but none are conclusive. I think that taking a shot and sending it into ANACS or ICG would be beneficial. there is the die crack on the jacket that might help confirm the coin. but op's photos are usually to pixelated.

Ya . He's right about the coin not being doubled stamped, or struck .
But they know nothing about varieties, from what I read ...

I get where you all are coming from, but I am also inclined to give the dealer a little slack. This minor doubling business is really, really, really niche stuff. If every dealer had to be aware of every niche of this hobby there would be no dealers. Now if he missed a 55 or 72 or 83 DDO that's a different story. And your text is likely with a customer service rep, not a numismatist. They are a large volume bullion and bulk coin dealer, their customer reps should not be coin experts, they should be trained customer service people.

I've said it before, at this level of image separation you are really just collecting wheat cent varieties. What makes this die marriage any more special than the thousands of other die marriages? And if your answer is a minuscule die shift, then why not also be interested in minuscule diagnostic tool marks for other dies? I'm not a half way type of person, I'd either like these because I collect them by variety or I would stick to the major errors, YMMV.

I don't think DDO would be considered a minor niche in the numismatic world. If I had to guess, I'd say DDO/DDR's are the second most sought after coin, and first variety type (aside from MM sets) most folks look for. Toning is not included in that thought process because it isn't a variety or error.

DD's are sought after in every coin that has them, and demand premiums as far as 10,000x's non-DD of the same coin.

And to be honest he told me it's 11.50 I think or 11 to send him 2 coins which isn't bad at all but I live day by day scraping and I just had 130+ lbs of copper stolen out of my yard. If only I could sell these old stamps or the decanters from 70s or even this depression glass lol
