Most of these are local. (Natural History Museum, Albuquerque Aquarium, Rio Grande Zoo, Rio Grande Botanical Gardens) But some of them are from:
Oatman, AZ Wild Donkey Preserve, Butterfly Wonderland Scottsdale, AZ, San Francisco SS Jeremiah O'Brien, Cave of the Winds (my favorite) Sea World 50th Anniv., Sea World reg., Balclutha, & a couple unidentifiable.

If you are set to "TONE" and high discrimination, the silver and copper give strong high solid tones and the nickels should give a low tone. Nickels on mine sound similar to pop top and pencil eraser ends. But the nickel is a more solid tone.
And the zinc will give a solid crappy/ crackly tone.

    Nice score.
The nickels are there. They used to be very difficult for me to find on my old machine. I bought the same type again, although the modern version is much lighter which is nice, and I get tons of nickels.

Super scrounge today. I should be back into my regular rotation soon, so hopefully things pick up.

The only even semi rare coin I found turned out to be a fake. Apparently they faked coins with regularity long ago. Actually the fakes are worth money though too but point being that I'm not much better at metal detecting than I am at determining dd varieties.

Let's see a photo. It's probably pretty cool.

I'll do that sometime. It's tucked away. I want to say it was colonial coinage or somewhere around there. I recall looking and comparing it stuff in the front of Redbook.

IMG_20180823_181951916.jpg IMG_20180823_182011115.jpg walked over to a little strip of grass that's next to my friend's house.the Ellis Island quarter was laying on the qravel next to the road and the nickel was covered with small pea gravel on the other side of the median. I was there 27 min and came away with this.i like the button,I gave it to my wife and she threw it back at me lol .the cents are stuck and will not come apart,I dropped them and nothing.

Let them soak in warm soapy water. They will come apart later by themselves or with a thin knife/ screwdriver blade between them.

I get it. Knife, screwdriver. Very good. Wait. You did mean it that way.

If they aren't valuable, you can't really hurt them by separating them with a knife or a screwdriver. The soak usually is enough to loosen and twist/pry them apart without the tools.
